After pulling up anchor in Gibralter, we headed on towards our next port of Athens, Greece. Athens from the water, my first view of Greece ever!
The boat didn’t actually go to Athens proper, but to Zea Marina in Piraeus. Close enough.
A fairly short cab ride away and we made it to La Plaka.
Teeming with restaurants, cafes, tourist shops and jewelry stores, the Plaka is a fun place to explore. …and eat, drink and buy stuff. Ha! Of course we did all of that.
A Greek cappuccino. Looking back, I will forgive myself for ordering one on my first night out in Greece. I had not yet been enlightened by the utter amazing discovery of the Greek frappe. More on those later….

Back in Piraeus, another neat cafe bar. The whole country seems to embrace the lounging coffee culture.
